This newly-constructed post and beam home required cabinetry to compliment its strong feel and semi-rustic theme. Quartersawn oak was selected for the wood species for its consistent, linear graining. Oversize frames on the cabinet doors added a sturdy appearance, and the inset flat panels maintained the rustic simplicity.
At the range area, one true support beam was located in an odd location relative to the cabinetry layout. By adding a non-structural beam on the opposite side of the range, symmetry was introduced, and the oddity of the true support beam was eliminated.
